Crab Orchard, West Virginia (WV), is a community on Crab Orchard Creek in Raleigh County. The town was named for Crab Orchard Creek, a tributary of Piney Creek which courses through the community. Crab Orchard was settled in part by members of the Church of the Brethren, also known as Dunkers or Dunkards or German Baptist Brethren. Highway WV-16 courses through the community between Beckley, West Virginia, and Sophia.
