Hedgesville, West Virginia (WV), is a community in Berkeley County, platted in 1830 and chartered in 1854. The community was named in honor of the Hedges family, prosperous landowners in the area at that time. Hedgesville occupies a gap in North Mountain between the valleys of Back Creek and Opequon Creek, tributaries of the Potomac River.
