Northfork, West Virginia (WV), a community in McDowell County, was incorporated in 1901 and named because of its location on the north fork of Elkhorn Creek, a principal tributary of the Tug Fork River. Trail riding on all-terrain vehicles is a popular pastime that attracts many visitors to the region. A trailhead for the Indian Ridge ATV Trails, part of the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System, is located at near Northfork at Keystone.
