Stonewood, West Virginia (WV), a community in Harrison County, was incorporated in 1947 and named for two smaller communities that became part of the corporation, Stonewall and Norwood. Stonewood is situated along Elk Creek, a tributary of the West Fork River.

Stonewood is located on highway WV-58 off WV-20 approximately one mile southeast of Nutter Fort, West Virginia, three miles southeast of Clarksburg, West Virginia, and three miles northwest of the Stonewood-Nutter Fort exit on the I-79 expressway.
