
Elk River Ski Area
The Elk River ski area provides guests more than 20 miles of cross-country skiing trails and access to thousands more in the adjacent Monongahela National Forest. A drive of about 15 minute from the resort villages atop Snowshoe Mountain, Elk River Touring Center offers proximity to much wintry activity as well as its own cabins a restaurant and club.
About Elk River Touring Center
The ski trails at the Elk River Touring Center wander through the fields and forests of a 150-acre former mountain homestead on the headwaters of the Elk River. Though perhaps best known as a destination for cross-country skiing in winter, the touring center is as renowned as a destination for hiking, biking, and trout fishing in winter. Visit the resort.

Location
The Elk River Touring Center is located in Pocahontas County in the Allegheny Highlands Region of eastern West Virginia. The touring center is a drive of approximately 60 miles north of Interstate 64 at White Sulphur Springs, WV, a drive of about 1.25 hours, and approximately 50 miles south of the US-33/250 expressway at Elkins, WV, a drive of about one hour. The nearest large community is Marlinton, WV, a drive of 15 miles or 25 minutes south of the touring center. All drive times cited here are approximate and vary with weather conditions.
