Snowshoe Mountain to open for summer season July 2

It's finally stopped snowing in the Allegheny Mountains in West Virginiaโ€”in time for officials at Snowshoe Mountain Resort to unveil a modified schedule of events for summer and fall 2020.

Including its Snowshoe Bike Park, the highland resort perhaps best-known for its ski areasย will operate Thursdays through Sundays beginning July 2, according to resort president Patti Duncan, while its Raven Golf Club will open two weeks earlier on June 18.

โ€œWeโ€™re excited to get the chairlifts spinning again and to welcome everyone back to the mountain," Duncan said of the opening.

"But at the same time we understand that in order to keep everyone safe, it needs to be done the right way. Thatโ€™s our top priority right now.โ€

Snowshoe officials will continue to monitor the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and are adhering to health and safety guidelines established by the CDC, NSAA, and the State of West Virginia.
