Danielle Parker, executive director of the organization, said the 2025 event will feature more tours, speakers, and demonstrations than in the past and is being expanded to help the increasing number of owners of historic properties.

"People are investing in historic properties in West Virginia at a greater rate than ever before," Parker said. "With this in mind, we're gearing up the conference to provide them all the resources and contacts we can."

The conference is growing at the same pace as the alliance, which has become a partner in economic growth with communities across the state.

"We've had more financial support and engagement than ever," Parker said.

Speakers will notably include experts in construction, tax credits and development, architectural salvage, cemetery preservation, and presenters from Main Street America and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

"The conference is also designed to provide participants opportunities to network with builders and fellow preservationists and learn from successful preservation projects," she said.

Established in 1982, the Preservation Alliance of West Virginia (PAWV) promotes historic preservation in West Virginia through advocacy, education, and technical assistance. The organization also administers the Preserve WV AmeriCorps program, the Saving Historic Places Grant, and the West Virginia Endangered Properties List.
