    Chessie 29 at The Greenbrier

President Eisenhower and his brother Milton on Chessie 29

Chessie 29 sits at the White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia depot’s "park track" for business cars. Other rail cars are parked behind the station in the distance. Chessie 29 was the car used by President Dwight Eisenhower to travel to The Greenbrier with C&O President Walter Tuohy for a summit with the leaders of Canada and Mexico. This was the trip when Eisenhower & Tuohy privately decided on the creation of the Congressional Bunker under the hotel (cohs-33064.JPG; Frank Shaffer photo, ca. 1959, courtesy of the Chesapeake & Ohio Historical Society, archive No. COHS-33064).
