The West Virginia State Parks system on July 16 will dedicate three new cabins at Chief Logan State Park in Logan County during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Chief Logan Lodge and Conference Center.

The ceremony is open to the public and starts at 11 a.m. Guests may arrive at 10:30 a.m. for complimentary refreshments. A ribbon-cutting and cabin tours will follow at 11:30 a.m.

“These three gorgeous cabins are a wonderful addition to Chief Logan State Park and will give travelers and vacationers in the area another option for overnight lodging,” said Stephen McDaniel, director of the Division of Natural Resources.

“Our staff has worked hard to get these cabins ready, and we’re excited to open them up to our guests as we celebrate their completion.”

The cabins are Chief Logan State Park’s first and provide spectacular views of the park. They cost just more than $2 million to complete, McDaniel said, and each features four bedrooms, large living areas, and all the modern conveniences overnight guests expect, making them perfect for vacations, reunions, weddings and getaways.

West Virginia products are featured inside, including original artwork by state artists, Homer-Laughlin china and Wild Mountain Soap products. Rentals range from $254 to $239 per night. One of the cabins is wheelchair accessible.

To celebrate the occasion, the park will give away a two-night stay in one of the cabins. Guests must be in attendance to enter their name in the drawing. A sign-up table will be set up before the ceremony during the time allotted for refreshments. The winner will be contacted following the event.

Guests also are invited to stay at the lodge after their tour to enjoy a soup, salad and sandwich buffet. This lunch special is $9.95 per person.
