    West Virginia launches online guide to operating restaurants

    The West Virginia Tourism Office has launched an to promote restaurants in the Mountain State that are operating during the coronavirus outbreak and help encourage residents to support local establishments.

    On March 18, Governor Jim Justice issued an formally directing all restaurants and bars in West Virginia to limit service to carry out, drive-through, and delivery operations only.

    "The Tourism Office is calling on all restaurant owners across the state to share updated hours of operation and available dining services," according to Emily Hatfield, a spokesperson for the tourism office.

    To date, more than 150 restaurants across the state have signed up, Hatfield said.

    All collected data is being populated and promoted on the office's new online dining guide—an interactive webpage designed to share real-time information with residents and visitors.

    The guide will provide information regarding which dining establishments are open and operating and calling out those that may be offering new carry out, drive-through, and delivery services, Hatfield said.
