The 217-acre Fort Mill Ridge Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is forested in hardwood and some pine. Deer and squirrel are the primary species hunted in the management area, which follows the southeast flank of Fort Mill Ridge. The South Branch of the Potomac accommodates fishing for bass, panfish, and channel catfish along the base of the ridge.
Directions: Fort Mill Ridge Wildlife Management Area is located in eastern Hampshire County southwest of Romney, WV. To reach the area from Romney, follow highway US-50 south on Phoenix Orchard Road. The access road to the management area on the left, 50 yards along. Camping is prohibited in the management area.
Fort Mill Ridge WMA is managed by the W.Va. Division of Natural Resources. It was formerly known as the Fort Mill Ridge Public Hunting & Fishing Area.
