Cacapon Mountain ascends to its highest summit (elev. 2,618 ft.) in Cacapon Resort State Park, the largest resort park in the West Virginia state park system. Hiking, biking, golfing, fishing, boating, shooting, swimming, picnicking, and horseback riding are all accommodated on Cacapon's 6,000 acres. Overnight accommodations are provided within the its 48-guest room Cacapon Lodge, in the historic "Ol' Inn," or in cabins, cottages, and bungalows throughout the park. A favorite haunt of George Washington, Cacopon's overlook at Prospect Rock provides one of the most historic vistas in West Virginia and is one of several scenic overlooks on the property.
