Eight waterfalls to visit this summer in West Virginia

    No. 3: Douglas Falls

Douglas Falls on the North Fork of the Blackwater River

"Waterfall heaven! Douglas Falls is the largest in a series of falls on the North Fork of the Blackwater River near Thomas. It's a bit hidden, if you don't know where you're going, but it's worth the find. One of the best things about the trail to the falls is that several other falls are located along the way. Rocks on the fork were stained orange by coal and coking operations there during the last century."
