    West Virginia state parks offer lodging discount June 4-11

    Cabins at Greenbrier State Forest are among those that will provide discounted rental rates in June 2017.

    Now that school is out, West Virginia state parks and forests are offering early summer lodging specials to help visitors enjoy even more hiking, biking, swimming, and other outdoor activities.

    Beginning June 4, nine state parks and forests will offer a "Parks Are In" accommodation discount of 30 percent off cabin and lodge room rentals at select areas as available, according to a release from Brad Reed, deputy chief of West Virginia State Parks.

    The promotion will run through June 8 and be offered again on June 11, according to Reed, and the discount may not be applied to Friday and Saturday night stays. Reservations are recommended.

    “The discount is for vacation cabins, but the North Bend and Twin Falls state park lodges are also included in the offer,” Brad Reed said.
