BECKLEY, W.Va. — Hosted by the West Virginia Storytelling Guild, story-tellers Linda Durrett, Karen Vuranch, Mikalena Zuckett, and Jodi French-Burr will weave tales on Saturday, November 19, from 2-3:30 p.m. at Tamarack at Beckley, West Virginia.
The four speakers, who are widely known for their skills, will perform in concert with the worldwide observance of story-telling—Tellabration, which originated in 1988 as part of the ongoing revival of the oral tradition of storytelling.
French-Burr, who is also the coordinator of this year’s Beckley event, says the holidays are ideal occasions for storytelling, and she hopes
“We’re hoping this celebration of stories will get us all thinking about the tales that enrich our lives,” French-Burr says.
“As family and friends gather for the season, it’s times like these that are especially good for sharing stories, be that at home around the kitchen table or at a celebration like this.”
Tamarack is located at Beckley on the I-77/I-64 expressway.
