    West Virginia stocks catfish in Mountain State lakes, ponds

    The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources has stocked 28 waters around the Mountain State with catfish, the agency announced on Wednesday. Between May 31 and June 2, the following waters were stocked:

    All anglers 15 years old and older are required to have a West Virginia fishing license and a valid form of identification. Licenses can be purchased at 175 retail locations across the state or online at .

    In addition to the above catfish stockings, trout were stocked in the upper section of Shaver's Fork, in the catch-and-release section of the South Branch of the Potomac River, and in the North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac River.

    Trout stocking will resume for two weeks during the weeks of Oct. 16 and Oct. 23. A trout stamp is needed while fishing for trout.
