DNR holds meetings to discuss hunting, fishing, trapping

The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources will present proposed hunting, trapping and fishing regulations to the public at locations around the state on March 16-17.

Scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m., the meetings will be hosted at schools and community centers and in other public spaces in each district.

During the meetings, hunters, trappers, anglers, landowners, and others can review and comment on proposed regulations for the 2020-2021 hunting and fishing seasons.

DNR Director Stephen McDaniel the informally styled meetings are designed to accommodate practitioners in the three pursuits as well as property owners.

"These public meetings are set up like an open house," McDaniel said.

"This informal meeting style allows people to attend at their convenience, discuss proposed regulation changes with wildlife resources and law enforcement staff and provide feedback on other wildlife-related issues."

Proposed regulation changes will be posted on the DNR website soon at .

Written comments from the public are encouraged and must be submitted by April 3. Anyone interested in attending a meeting should note the following dates and locations:
