In a cove in the southernmost Allegheny Mountains, Moncove Lake State Park and its namesake lake provide hiking, biking, boating, swimming, and picnicking facilities and camping accommodations for park guests and hunters visiting the adjacent Moncove Lake Wildlife Management Area. Five trails, three picnic shelters, an outdoor swimming pool, and 48 tent and RV camping sites border the southern end of the lake. Rowboats and paddleboats are available for rent at the Moncove Lake boathouse though visitors are also welcome to launch private watercraft that meet state regulations and employ a motor of less than five horsepower.
Directions: Moncove Lake State Park is located east of Union, WV, in Monroe County, in the Greenbrier Valley Region in southeastern West Virginia (WV). The park is located near the Washington & Jefferson National Forests.
