Iaeger, West Virginia (WV), is a community in McDowell County, incorporated in 1917 and named for Colonel William G. W. Iaeger, the father of Dr. William R. Iaeger, who platted the town in 1885. Iaeger is situated on the Tug Fork River and the junction of its Dry Fork. Downtown Iaeger has been decimated by the decline in coal mining in southern West Virginia and by a flood on the Tug Fork which caused severe water damage.
