Indian Mound Cemetery Mound is located in the Indian Mound Cemetery at Romney, West Virginia, in Hampshire County. One of the largest mounds that remains in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia, the mound is approximately seven feet high and about 15 feet in diameter.
The Indian Mound has never been excavated, though similar Native American mounds in the area investigated by the Smithsonian Institution suggest it might date between 500 and 1000 A.D. and have been constructed by Hopewellian peoples.
