The Sunset Mound, or Flat-Topped Mound, in South Charleston, West Virginia, in Kanawha County, rises along the southwest flank of Sunset Memorial Park. Its top has apparently been flattened, and its center is sunken. Several 19th century burials have been made atop the mound. It is accessible from Park Avenue outside the cemetery proper and is approximately two miles southwest of the Criel Mound.
The Sunset Mound is one of three that survive in the Kanawha Valley west of Charleston, West Virginia, and was one of 50 mounds mapped in the area by the Smithsonian Institution in 1883-1884.
