On a bend in the Middle Fork River, Audra State Park is a renowned destination for hiking, camping, and swimming. The smooth sandstone bed of the Middle Fork at Audra has created a singular natural waterpark -- a favorite run for kayakers in spring and an ideal destination for wading and sun-bathing in summer. A campground with 67 tent and RV trailer sites, open from mid-April through October, follows the wooded bank of the river. Popular park activities include hiking, swimming, kayaking, and picnicking. Alum Cave, a rock overhang beneath which a boardwalk has been built, is a highlight for hikers. Privately managed vacation cabins are located near Audra though not at the park.
