Surveyed by George Washington in 1784, "Ye Fam'd Warm Springs" became the centerpiece of the nation's first health resort and the heart of Berkeley Springs State Park. Each year thousands of visitors wade in its pools, soak in its Roman baths, and stroll through the shaded lawns that have developed around the springs. Integrated with the historical town of Berkeley Springs (officially known as Bath), the park is steeped in an atmosphere of healing and luxury that have long attracted vacationers to the mountains of West Virginia. Shops, restaurants, vacation homes, and resort residences, including Berkeley Castle, encircle the park.
Directions: Berkeley Springs State Park is located in the Eastern Panhandle Region, in Berkeley Springs, in eastern West Virginia, in Morgan County.
