The 422-acre Widmeyer Wildlife Management Area (WMA) ranges across a forest of oak and pine that climbs from the flank of Cacapon Mountain from the Potomac River. Game traditionally hunted in the management area include deer, squirrel, and turkey. Camping is prohibited in the management area.
Directions: The Widmeyer Wildlife Management Area is located in northern Morgan County west of Berkeley Springs, WV. To reach the management area from Berkeley Springs, follow Cacapon Road (WV-9) 1.3 miles west to a right turn onto Bennett Lane (CR-9/11). Turn left onto Silvers Lane, and proceed to access area.
The Widmeyer WMA is managed by the W.Va. Division of Natural Resources. It was formerly known as the Widmeyer Public Hunting & Fishing Area. Berkeley Springs State Park and Cacapon Resort State Park are located near the management area.
