Camping Regulations

National Park Service rangers strictly enforce camping regulations within the national park land in southern West Virginia. The following regulations were provided by the park service in May 2010.   • A maximum of two vehicles and eight people are permitted per campsite.
  • A maximum of two tents or one tent and one RV are permitted per campsite.
  • A stay limit of 14-out-of-28 days is permitted per campground.
  • Quiet hours are enforced between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • Cased firearms are permitted in the parkland during hunting season, though the use of firearms is prohibited in the campgrounds.
  • Only dead and downed wood may be used for campfires, and only hand tools may be used to cut firewood.
  • Trespassing on CSX roads and railroad tracks is prohibited.
  • Public intoxication and disorderly conduct are prohibited.
  • Pets must be leashed.
