Bethany, WV (West Virginia), a community in southern Brooke County, was chartered in 1853 and named for the revered village in Palestine. It is notably the home of Alexander Campbell, founder of the Christian Church, who established a college there. The community is renowned for its cultivated atmosphere.

The community is approximately 20 miles northwest of Wheeling, West Virginia, 20 miles south of Weirton, West Virginia, and four miles southwest of West Liberty, West Virginia.
