Glasgow, West Virginia (WV), a community on the Kanawha River in Kanawha County, was incorporated in 1920. Its name is derived from a combination of the words "glass" and "company" and a play on the city of Glasgow in Scotland. The Glasgow Glass Company operated factory on the Kanawha River at Glasgow.
