Gauley Tailwaters Camping Area
Eighteen public campsites with RV access are located in this open campground on Gauley River below Summersville Lake Dam. Unlike other primitive campgrounds managed by the NPS, the campsites are relatively near markets and service stations, several of which are located two-to-three miles east along the US-19 expressway at Mount Nebo, WV. Campground highlights include proximity to Summersville Lake and the boating launch for the lower Gauley River whitewater-rafting run.
