Eight waterfalls to visit this summer in West Virginia

    No. 4: Dunloup Falls

    Dunloup Falls near Thurmond, W.Va.

"A fantastic spot for a picnic, the lower falls of Dunloup Creek are easily accessible, located along Thurmond Road in the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. A railroad track is located across the creek, and you might get lucky and be able to wave to the conductor. The falls are located near the ghost town of Thurmond, in which the National Park Service maintains a seasonal visitor center and museum, and the trailhead for the park's 3.2-mile Rend Trail."
