Eight waterfalls to visit this summer in West Virginia

    No. 7: Brush Creek Falls

Brush Creek Falls near Athens, W.Va.

"An easy half-mile trail leads along Brush Creek to this large falls, the centerpiece of the Brush Creek Nature Preserve. Locals tell me there used to be a mill and a small settlement here. You can still see the stone foundation of the old bridge across the top of the falls. A swimming hole completes the picture. Three other well-known falls are located nearby -- Campbell and Marsh Fork Falls at Camp Creek State Park, and Pipestem Falls near Pipestem Resort State Park."
