New River Gorge resort hiring; job fair scheduled May 1

At the rim of the New River Gorge, the Adventures on the Gorge resort is staging a job fair on Saturday, May 1, to fill hundreds of positions.

In anticipation of increased tourism following the establishment of America's newest national park, the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, the job fair will be held at the resortโ€™s Rendezvous Lodge near the New River Gorge Bridge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Officials at the outdoor adventure resort will be filling positions in nearly every department including guides, front desk, reservations, food and beverage, housekeeping, video, janitorial, maintenance and security, according to Jerry Smith, human resources director.

โ€œWe are seeking employees who like to work hard and play hard,โ€ Smith said.

โ€œThere is a multitude of jobs available for candidates with an array of skills and interests. If an โ€˜officeโ€™ in the countryโ€™s newest national park sounds interesting to you, we want to meet you.โ€

Adventures on the Gorge employees receive a variety of benefits, including free adventures such as ziplining, rock climbing, and rafting on the New River, as well as discounts on food and beverage, retail equipment, and merchandise.
