At the rim of the New River Gorge, the Adventures on the Gorge resort is staging a job fair on Saturday, May 1, to fill hundreds of positions.
In anticipation of increased tourism following the establishment of America’s newest national park, the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, the job fair will be held at the resort’s Rendezvous Lodge near the New River Gorge Bridge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Officials at the outdoor adventure resort will be filling positions in nearly every department including guides, front desk, reservations, food and beverage, housekeeping, video, janitorial, maintenance and security, according to Jerry Smith, human resources director.
“We are seeking employees who like to work hard and play hard,” Smith said.
“There is a multitude of jobs available for candidates with an array of skills and interests. If an ‘office’ in the country’s newest national park sounds interesting to you, we want to meet you.”
Adventures on the Gorge employees receive a variety of benefits, including free adventures such as ziplining, rock climbing, and rafting on the New River, as well as discounts on food and beverage, retail equipment, and merchandise.
Named one of the top six adventure resorts in the country by U.S. News & World Report, Adventures on the Gorge is located on more than 250 acres along the rim of the majestic New River Gorge near Fayetteville, West Virginia.
The resort provides an array of outdoor experiences including whitewater rafting on the New and Gauley rivers, aerial adventures, rock climbing, rappelling, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing, mountain biking, and hiking.
There are also restaurants, bars, and shops as well as a small-group conference center.
Travelers can find out more about Adventures on the Gorge online or by calling 1-855-379-8738.
