Canaan Valley resort announces $6 million upgrade ahead of winter season

DAVIS, W.Va. — Officials at Canaan Valley Resort State Park in northern West Virginia say they're gearing up for an exciting ski season with a slate of major upgrades designed to elevate the guest experience at one of West Virginia’s premier cold-weather destinations.

Supported by a $6 million investment from the W.Va. Division of Natural Resources, improvements include a new groomer to enhance slope quality and a new snowmaking pump house that will boost efficiency and snow coverage across the mountain.

“From the thrill of fresh snow to the stunning mountain views, Canaan Valley continues to show why West Virginia is a world-class winter destination,” Price said. “With these upgrades, we’re enhancing the quality, reliability, and excitement of winter tourism in Almost Heaven.”
