President Eisenhower is returning to Washington from the "Summit of the Americas” with Canadian Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent and Mexican President Adolfo Ruiz Cortines at The Greenbrier. This was the trip on which Eisenhower and C&O President Walter Tuohy agreed upon the plan to build the secret congressional refuge bunker at the West Virginia luxury hotel (COHS-23088.JPG; March 1956, courtesy of the Chesapeake & Ohio Historical Society, archive No. COHS-23088).
