The 1,361-acre Shannondale Springs Wildlife Management Area (WMA) ranges across brush, open field, and mature hardwood forest in its ascent from the Shenandoah River to the crest of the Blue Ridge. Game traditionally hunted in the management area includes deer, fox, squirrel, mink, skunk, raccoon, turkey, woodcock, beaver, muskrat, opossum, mourning dove, and waterfowl. The Shenandoah River accommodates fishing for bass, panfish, and channel catfish, and a boat launch ramp has been developed there. Camping is prohibited in the management area.
Directions: Shannondale Springs Wildlife Management Area is located in southern Jefferson County near Ranson, WV, and Charles Town, WV. From the US-340 expressway at Charles Town, follow Charles Town Road (WV-9 south 3.5 miles to a right turn onto Mission Road (CR-9/5). The management area is located 2.5 miles ahead.
Shannondale Springs WMA is managed by the W.Va. Division of Natural Resources. It was formerly known as the Shannondale Springs Public Hunting & Fishing Area.
