The history and prehistory of West Virginia merge at Chief Logan State Park, a preserve of mountain forest that includes the ruins of coal mines, relics of the infamous feud between the Hatfields & McCoys, and the home-stage for the annual outdoor drama "The Aracoma Story." Here among the mountains where roamed Aracoma, the daughter of Cayuga orator Logan Elrod, park guests will find game courts, picnic shelters, a swimming pool with a water slide, a miniature golf course, and a 25 site campground with tent and RV facilities. The Chief Logan Lodge & Conference Center is located adjacent to the park off the US-119 expressway.
Directions: Chief Logan State Park is located near Logan, WV, and Chapmanville, WV, in Logan County, in the Hatfield & McCoy Region in southwestern West Virginia.
