The 31-acre Valley Bend Wildlife Management Area (WMA) ranges across two wetlands on the Tygart Valley River. A 10-acre natural wetland and an eight-acre artifical wetland flood seasonally. Game traditionally hunted in the management area includes waterfowl and migratory birds, though hunting is limited as a result of the relatively small size of the area. Tygart Valley River accommodates fishing for trout, bass, and panfish. Camping is prohibited in the management area.
Location: The Valley Bend Wetland Wildlife Management Area is located in central Randolph County approximately three miles north of Mill Creek, WV, and seven miles south of Beverly, WV. The wetland is located on highway US-219 (US-250).
The Valley Bend Wetland WMA is managed by the W.Va. Division of Natural Resources. It was formerly known as the Valley Bend Wetland Public Hunting & Fishing Area.
