
Mineral Wells, WV (West Virginia), a community in Wood County, was named for healing springs that attracted lodgers to the area in the late 1800s. Between 1885 and 1900, a resort at Mineral Wells was a fashionable summer vacation destination on the old Staunton & Parkersburg Turnpike. Several hotels now cluster around the I-77 expressway that flanks the community.
