West Virginia Hotels at a Glance
Visitors to West Virginia enjoy a choice of a wide variety of hotels, from traditional inns and resorts such as The Greenbrier, at White Sulphur Springs, and The Blennerhassett, at Parkersburg, to exceptional modern accommodations such as Lakeview, at Cheat Lake, and the Stonewall Resort at Stonewall Jackson Lake State Park near Weston.
The largest collections of hotels are generally located in and near the largest cities in West Virginia, most notably at Charleston, the state capital, at Morgantown, the home of West Virginia University (WVU), and at Huntington, the home of Marshall University (MU). Significant centers for accommodation are also found in vacation destination areas such as at Beckley, near the New River Gorge, and at Martinsburg, near Harpers Ferry.
