Prizes include golf at The Greenbrier, whitewater rafting in the New River Gorge, guided hunting and fishing trips, resort accommodations, and outdoor recreation equipment donated by businesses statewide.

The largest listed prize is a $2,400 golf package for four, including carts, at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs.

Other major prizes include a three-night family cabin stay at Elk Springs Resort, valued at $1,092; a $1,055 guided fishing and tracking package from Longspur Tracking; and a month of upland bird dog puppy training from All N Kennels, valued at $1,000.

ACE Adventure Resort is contributing a New River rafting trip and two nights in a deluxe cabin, valued at $740. Mountain Meadows Hunting Lodge is offering a boar or ram hunt valued at $695.

Reed said the response from businesses and outdoor recreation partners reflects widespread support for West Virginia’s parks, forests, and trails.

“The generosity of West Virginia businesses and outdoor recreation partners has been tremendous,” Reed said.

“We have assembled an outstanding collection of experiences that showcase the many ways people can enjoy our state. Just as importantly, this raffle provides an opportunity to support the places and outdoor resources that make West Virginia special.”

State parks and outdoor destinations contribute prizes

West Virginia’s state parks are represented among the donated experiences, including a package featuring trout fishing at Pipestem Resort State Park and sporting clays at Cacapon Resort State Park, with overnight accommodations.

Raffle proceeds to support parks and trails

The West Virginia State Parks Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization that raises private funds to support improvements to state parks, forests, and rail trails.

The foundation works with local park foundations and other partners to help finance projects involving trails, recreational facilities, playgrounds, and visitor amenities.

“Whether it is improving trails, enhancing recreational facilities, supporting playgrounds, or helping fund projects that improve the visitor experience, private support makes a real difference in the future of our state parks,” Reed said.

The foundation says raffle proceeds will benefit West Virginia’s state parks, forests, and rail trails.
