Searching for refuge from summer heat? If swimming isn't your cup of tea, perhaps a jog through one of the tunnels along the North Bend Rail Trail in northern West Virginia might be.
Ten tunnels through which the trail passes on its 72-mile course between Clarksburg and Parkersburg are sure to provide relief during the dog days of summer — or anytime during the spring or fall when the weather takes a turn for the warmer.
In his latest video, David Sibray, publisher of the West Virginia Explorer, rents a bike at nearby North Bend State Park and journeys through three tunnels through which the trail courses between Cairo and Harrisville, West Virginia.
Sibray says more journeys on the trail will be published in the near future, including several that explore the tunnels and ghost towns along route in more detail.
