Pennsboro, West Virginia (WV), a community in Ritchie County, was incorporated in 1885 and named for a surveyor for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad whose surname was Penn and who platted the town. Pennsboro has long been the location of “The Old Stone House,” a stagecoach tavern built in about 1810.
