    New River community college offers beginner's quilting course

    New River Community and Technical College is offering a four-day quilting class for beginners starting Tuesday, Sept. 24, at its Greenbrier Valley Campus in Lewisburg, West Virginia.

    Students will learn the process of making a handmade quilt, according to Jenni Canterbury, director of communications for the school.

    Pre-registration is recommended by Sept. 10. Tuition for the class is $80 plus the $20 cost of a quilt kit.

    Classes will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be taught Sept. 24 and Oct. 1, 8, and 15.

    The school's Workforce Education Division provides community education classes and employable educational opportunities, including noncredit courses, workforce development programs, and customized training.

    New River serves nine counties in southeastern West Virginia from campuses located in  at Princeton,  at Beaver, Nicholas County at Summersville, and  at Lewisburg.
