William Kerrigan

William Kerrigan is a historian, author, and contributor to West Virginia Explorer Magazine whose work explores the history and culture of Appalachia and the Upper Ohio Valley. A longtime professor of history at Muskingum University, Kerrigan has written extensively on early American history, the Civil War era, environmental history, and Appalachian communities. He is the author of several books, including West Virginia’s War and Johnny Appleseed and the American Orchard, and is widely recognized for making regional history accessible and engaging to modern readers.
