Kayakers in the New RIver Gorge

West Virginia communities are often defined by rivers and their valleys. ┬áRivers and streams tie communities together and provide the paths of least resistance along which commerce travels. Rivers also accommodate some of the state’s principal forms of recreation — fishing, boating, and swimming. Though renowned as a destination for kayaking and whitewater rafting, West Virginia is the source of many sleepy rivers as well.
