No. 5: Glade Creek Falls

Lower Falls on Glade Creek
Glade Creek in the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve

“The lower falls on Glade Creek is an ideal spot for a back-pack picnic. Bring your bathing suit, as there’s a lovely pool below the falls, with plenty of smaller pools to explore upstream and down. The falls are located on the 5.6-mile Glade Creek Trail, less than a mile from its lower trailhead at the New River. Plan to spend time exploring: There’s plenty to see and do along the way. The park service operates a campground near the trailhead.”

Location: near Beaver, West Virginia
GPS: 37.8239 N, 81.0086 W
Height: 9 feet
Access: Easy
