
Boaz, West Virginia
Boaz, WV (West Virginia), a community on the Ohio River in Wood County, is the site of the Henderson Hall National Historic District. Boaz is situated in a wide flats alongside the river and was formerly the site of prehistoric villages. Several burial mounds are located on the grounds of Henderson Hall. The community was named in 1878 for its post office, the name of the which was suggested by settler William Johnson. Muskingum Island, part of the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge, is here.
