Bolivar, WV (West Virginia), an incorporated community in Jefferson County, was named in honor of , a Venezuelan patriot known as the "Liberator of South America."  The town is encircled by the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. The Potomac River and Shenandoah River flank the town to the north and south, respectively.
