Bolivar, West Virginia

Bolivar, West Virginia (WV), an incorporated community in Jefferson County, was named in honor of Simón Bolívar, a Venezuelan patriot known as the “Liberator of South America.”  The town is encircled by the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. The Potomac River and Shenandoah River flank the town to the north and south, respectively.

Then town is one mile west of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, on the US-340 expressway, six miles northwest of Charles Town, West Virginia, and 11 miles south of Shepherdstown, West Virginia
