Pruntytown Wildlife Management Area

The 1,764-acre Pruntytown State Farm Wildlife Management Area (WMA) ranges across hay fields, pastures, and scattered woodlands with moderate slopes and gently rolling hills. Part of the management area is beef cattle farm managed by the W.Va. Department of Agriculture. Game traditionally hunted in the management area includes deer, grouse, rabbit, turkey, coyote, and mourning dove. A safety zone is maintained around the farm area.  Camping is prohibited in the management area but is accommodated nearby at Tygart Lake State Park and in the Pleasant Creek Wildlife Management Area.

Directions: The Pruntytown State Farm Wildlife Management Area is located in Taylor County five miles west of Grafton, WV, and 10 miles east of Bridgeport, WV (in Harrison County). The principal entrance to the management area is one half-mile west of Pruntytown, WV, off highway US-50 on Long Run Road (CR-36).

The Pruntytown State Farm WMA iis managed by the W.Va. Division of Natural Resources. It was formerly known as the Pruntytown State Farm Public Hunting & Fishing Area.
